Neurofeedback and Epilepsy/PNES
Neurofeedback is a form of biofeedback therapy that has been used for decades to help people with refractory epilepsy. Neurofeedback is based on self-modulation of the electroencephalogram (EEG); safely training the brain to stabilize its over-firing.
Neurofeedback normalizes or enhances EEG activity and, for some people, reduces seizure frequency. The treatment has been used successfully with all types of seizure disorders and is considered a safe complimentary treatment modality for epilepsy and psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES).
The Rocky Mountain Center for Epilepsy is currently looking for an experienced neurofeedback practitioner interested in collaborating with us. Please contact Dr. Moenter at 303.258.1116 to further discuss this opportunity.
